Sensei Terry Ezra Course.

On the 2nd October 2005 Sensei Terry Ezra attended a course for the White Rose at Rothwell sports centre.

The course was very well attended with not only our own students, Sensei Heseltine and Sensei Ezra's students came along also. As usual a wonderful course by Sensei Ezra and we hope to see him again at the White Rose very soon.

Sensei Riley and Sensei Danford would like to thank all those students involved in helping once again with the mats. It was short notice that there were not enough mats at the sports centre so thankyou to everyone involved in helping to make the course possible on the day.

Tony Heseltine 5th Dan

Sensei Tony Heseltine 5th Dan

I would like to thank Sensei Heseltine for his interview. Again his answers give us yet another look into Aikido in the 80's and 90's and those days of vigerous training.

Thankyou Sensei.

This month we have Sensei Mick Hajdysz 4th Dan from the Halifax Dojo. As a long standing friend and instructor of Sensei Riley, I feel he has plenty to share with us.

As before please maintain respect at all times and send as many questions as you wish to ashley@whiteroseaikido.com.

New Apparel.

We now have the new White Rose Aikikai baseball caps available to buy either at your club or online. The caps are of very good quality and come embroidered to the highest standard.

The layout of the cap has White Rose Aikikai on the front in the usual Japanese calligraphy and above the arc at the rear of the cap it reads www.whiteroseaikido.com.

The caps are very discreet and are on sale for £15.00 each to club members. You also have the option to have White or Gold embroidery on your cap. All caps come in black. If you really want to push the boat out, you can have your name in katakana on the peak of the cap for an additional £10.00.

The New White Rose Dojo

As some of you may already know, Sensei Riley has been looking at permanent premises for the association. It has been quite a battle to find somewhere suitable for the club both in size and financially.

If anyone knows of anywhere which may be suitable for a permanent dojo in and around the Dewsbury, Mirfield, Huddersfield area please let myself or Sensei Riley know.

I would like to conduct a poll on your thoughts on having our own dojo with both pro's and con's you can think of. E.g, Would you travel?, Would you be prepared to share the maintenance?, Do you think we would be better off staying with the sports centres etc.

Please let me know your views on the plans for a new dojo by emailing ashley@whiteroseaikido.com
