March Course and Gradings.

The 19th March will see in the first course and gradings of the year. Sensei Riley will be teaching the course throughout the day whilst examinations are taking place on a separate mat. This is the first course Sensei Riley has conducted in quite some time, due to guest instructors teaching at most of the 2005 courses, so it will make a pleasant change to have Sensei Riley to ourselves for a whole day.

If you are taking examination, you MUST have your request in on or before the 5th March to meet the 2 week deadline. Any students failing to inform us of their intention to take examination after the 5th March will be asked to wait until the next official examinations. This deadline is in place for a reason so it will be considered extremly bad etiquette to approch Sensei Riley to request examination after the 5th March deadline.

There are San-Dan & Yon-dan gradings also taking place on the day.

There are 3 ways in which you can get your grading request in:

1. Email ashley@whiteroseaikido.com with your name and current grade.

2. Fill out the online grading request form. This form is 100% guarenteed to secure your request so please don't think it won't be recieved because it will. Click Below to submit your request.

3. Enter your details onto a grading request form at the end of your class.

With all these options open to you, you will have no problem getting your name down before the 5th March deadline.

April Seminar.

On the 9th of April Sensei Riley is to teach a course at Crowtrees's Leisure centre in Sunderland, hosted by the kobukan. There may be a class the day before (8th April) at Durham, however that is yet to be confirmed. I am sure there will be at least a couple of cars going up to Sunderland so if you don't have your own transport, please ask if there are any spaces in any of the cars.

Website.

There has been some alterations to the website over the past month.

There is now a facility to print off current and previous newsletters using adobe acrobat.

There is an online membership application form which sends new member details direct to the relevant department.
There is also the facility to download the official membership form using adobe acrobat.

Online Grading Request Form.

Hong Kong 2006 Information.

New Video Clips from the Association DVD

These are just a few additions which may assist everyone in using the website to its full potential.

White Rose Aikikai Forum.

This forum was requested by numerous people, however after monitoring it for some time, it seems that interest has dropped off. This forum does take up space on the website's server, so after discussions with the association seniors it has been decided that the forum will run up until March. If within this time it has not been used, it will be removed. This is not what I would like to see happen, after all a lot of work and time has gone into it but I cannot allow pages to stand dead on the server. It not only looks un-professional but takes up space which could be used for something else.

Thanks.

I would like to thank Simon Stanton and Nick Smith for their time spent converting the new video clips from the association DVD. Also Nick Smith for assisting with setting up the online grading request form.
