June 2006

3rd June Course and Gradings.

As I am sure you are all aware, the deadline for grading requests has now past. Should you wish to take examination, you are now required to wait until the next official examinations.

Please refer to the courses page for full details on start times, maps etc..

Private Tuition.

Sensei Riley is now accepting students for private sessions. If you require this service then you must:

1. Arrange the training room yourself.
2. Book Sensei Riley for the length of time you require. Click Here to Book.

This service is ideal for students who require extra tuition whilst working up to a grading and for extra tuition in general to progress faster. It is quite rare for students to have the pleasure of private 6th Dan tuition at a personal level so this is a feature which will defiantly be of great use to all accociation members.

50 Years Course at Birmingham.

Shihan Terry Bayliss 7th Dan is hosting a 2 day seminar through his association (Seijitsu) on the 9th & 10th September 2006.

This seminar is a BOOK ONLY event so i would expect, considering the lineup of instructors who are teaching on the day, including Sensei Riley, places will be limited. Please CLICK HERE if you require a booking form.

Sensei Riley will be teaching 3 sessions on the Saturday.

For further details on this seminar, please go to the courses section of this website.

Guess Who?

Congratulations to John Chapman from the northeast. He was the first person to get the guess who correct! The picture is indeed our very own, handsome:
MICK HAJDYSZ !

This month we have another handsome character:

Again please Email your "guess" to ashley@whiteroseaikido.com and have your name published on the next newsletter.

Dewsbury Sports Centre.

From the 12th June, the dojo in Dewsbury Sports Centre will be temporarily moved to the badminton courts in the main hall. This will go on until sometime in late September, early October.
After the work is complete in the current dojo location, we will be moved back into there.

Memberships.

Could all students please check that their memberships are upto date. You should have a dojo pass which indicates the date of expiry. It is against the conditions of training in the association to be uninsured on the mat. It is for everyones benefit that you are upto date.

Weapons.

We now have a full range of weapons available to buy online in the webstore. This includes:

White & Red Oak Jo Staff
White & Red Oak Bokken
White & Red Oak Tanto
Weapons Carry Bag

As usual you have the option to collect your order from Ashley at the dojo, or, have your order delivered to your home address.

Also there are some further items added to the webstore.

NEW MONDAY CLASS! (Slaithwaite Huddersfield)

From the first Monday in July there will be a new class starting at Colne Valley Sports Centre in Slaithwaite (Huddersfield). The times are 20:15 until 21:45 every Monday night.

I will be adding a separate page dedicated to this in the next few days complete with maps and directions.

Forum.

Due to the lack of interest in the website forum, I have decided to remove it from the menubar and relocate it to the list on the contents page.
The decision not to remove it permanently was made for the small number of people who use it "every now and again".

The position on the menubar will be filled by the class schedules link.

Final Note.

Good luck to everyone who is taking examination on the 3rd of June. As Sensei Riley always stresses, if you come PREPARED then you will perform, if not, don't expect miracles.
