March 2007 Newsletter

April 1st Course

As previously mentioned in the February newsletter there is an upcoming course taking place on the 1st of April. The course is going to be held at Dewsbury Sports Centre and is starting at 10.30am and will run till 4pm with a half hour break for lunch.  We have a very honoured to have a guest instructor for the course a long time friend of the Sensei Riley, Sensei Terry Bayliss who we are honoured to have instructing the course.  For those of you who have not had the pleasure of meeting Sensei Terry Bayliss I highly recommend that you attend the course.    The cost for the course will be £20 however if you are student you will get a 25% discount and the course will only cost £15.  If you are a student you will be required to bring proof of your student status.

Gradings

The course will be a grading course so you will have the opportunity to take a grading if you wish to do so.  If you wish to take a grading you must inform your club instructor and do so at least two week prior to your grading after that no requests will be made for the course and if you wish to grade you will have to wait until the next course.

Remember though if you wish to grade make that you are well prepared for your grading. Take use of the resources available to the lead up to your grading; speak to your club instructor, check the syllabus available on the website to see what is required for your grading and make sure that you fully aware of what you will be required to perform for the grading panel.

Sensei Heseltine’s Sherburn Night Out

On the 23rd of February Sensei Heseltine hosted a Social Night at his pub in Sherburn.  The night out was attended by a large number of students from his Durham Class and Sensei Riley who travelled up for the event.  At the night out everyone enjoyed the talents of a local band who were performing that night.  The night was a thoroughly enjoyable and a good time was had by all who attended.  We would like to thank Sensei Riley for travelling up to attend the evening.

If there is any news that you wish to be published in next months newsletter do not hesitate to email me.
